Brian Donohue
Brian Donohue is a reporter for News 12 New Jersey's "Positively New Jersey" segments - and he certainly has the pedigree for it.
Born and raised in Union County, he has covered New Jersey since 1994, first covering, local government, politics, crime, prisons and immigration for The Jersey Journal and The Star-Ledger newspapers. When the web video revolution arrived in the mid 2000s, he traded his pen and pad for a video camera and laptop, producing a web video vlog for The Star-Ledger and winning three Emmy awards for writing/producing, enterprise journalism and interactivity.
He shared in The Star-Ledger's 2005 Pulitzer Prize for breaking news coverage of the resignation of New Jersey Gov. James McGreevey and has received a dozen local press association awards. His most recent awards include a 3rd place 2016 Society for Features Journalism award for video storytelling  and a 2016 New Jersey Society of Professional Journalist award for enterprise and investigative reporting for a story in which he and fellow reporter Mark Mueller tracked a fugitive New Jersey sex offender to Nicaragua.
With "Positively Jersey," Donohue takes his unique style of storytelling to deliver offbeat takes on the people, places, personalities and problems that are unique to the Garden State. In his spare time, he attends his daughters' soccer games and piano recitals or goes surfing or fishing on the beaches along the shore.
