Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Finding a community to help women with their breast cancer journey
Helping women through their breast cancer journey is the focus of a breast cancer research center in Princeton. News 12 New Jersey's Karina Gerry visited the YWCA Princeton's Breast Cancer Resource Center where she spoke with breast cancer survivors.
Terry Dauber was diagnosed with breast cancer in September 2021 during the pandemic. She reached out to the center hoping to find a sense of community.
“Being diagnosed during the pandemic – you’re alone,” she said. “So not only did I not have people in my life who have gone through this but I also couldn't bring people to appointments and that kind of thing, so it was more about community to start with."
The Princeton center offers free and low-cost services for those living with, through and beyond breast cancer.
