Police say a group of brazen thieves pulled off a million-dollar jewelry heist at a Paramus store Tuesday night.
According to police, there were no signs of forced entry at Paramus Jewelers Exchange off Route 4. Investigators say the thieves were able to steal nearly $1 million worth of diamonds and other jewelry by entering through a vacant retail space next to the store.
Store manager Abby Rabbani says he can?t believe he was robbed, especially since the store has security alarms and lasers. However, police say the crime was well calculated and the security system didn?t matter.
?The area they broke in at the [store] was right where a large safe was located,? Paramus Deputy Police Chief Richard Cary says.
Police don?t think the robbery was caught on surveillance cameras because the thieves never actually went inside the store.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Paramus Police Department at (201)262-3400.
