Restaurants in Boonton have had to overcome obstacles due to COVID-19 and now they are battling the aftermath of Isaias.
News 12 spoke with Main Street restaurant owners who say having no power has been stressful. The owners say they are hoping and praying the power will come back before their food supply spoils.
Some owners say they have had to throw out thousands of dollars worth of food. They say the food they have left will be donated before it goes to waste.
The staff at Roma Pizzeria was busy Wednesday packing coolers to try and salvage as much as possible.
Enza Isgett, owner of Roma Pizzeria, says it's already been an adjustment operating during the pandemic and that the blackout is just another hit to business.
"At least $7,000-$10,000 of stuff that we donated and threw away," says Isgett. "Hopefully the food pantries can take some pasta and meatballs."
