Residents in South Amboy are being told Thursday to boil water from the tap after Middlesex Water Company found a service line break near lower Main Street near the Ferry Terminal and the Station Bay Condo complex.

Until further notice, residents affected should bring water to a rolling boil for at least a minute then let it cool before using for drinking, preparing food, etc., as boiling kills any bacteria.

Bottled water is also suggested.

Also avoid giving tap water to pets unless boiled and cooled first.
