A fire that started in a car spread to a home on Laurel Avenue in Bloomfield, causing significant damage, fire officials said.

The blaze broke out Wednesday afternoon, quickly engulfing the back of the house.

One resident sustained minor injuries but is expected to recover.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
