The owner of popular stand in Ortley Beach isn't letting his blindness stop him from selling hot dogs.
Bill's Famous Hot Dogs, owned by Bill Clark, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this summer.
Clark lost his eyesight after a car accident in 1967. Two years later, he started his hot dog stand.
He says the first hot dog he sold cost 35 cents and now they go for $3.
Throughout the decades, Clark and his business have gone through rough patches. He says Superstorm Sandy almost shut him down.
"Initially there was no one here after the storm," he says.
He eventually was able to sustain his business and says he can sell up to 10 dozen hot dogs a day.
Regulars of Bill's Famous Hot Dogs call him a staple of the community.
