There will be big changes in how it feels outside on Long Island are on the way! For tonight, it will be mostly cloudy and we just cannot rule out some drizzle or a passing steadier rain shower at any point. Lows will be around 40 degrees.
A cold front will move through on Thursday. It will come through fairly dry, but a passing rain shower is possible through mid-morning tomorrow. As colder air moves in, a snow shower or flurry cannot be ruled out either, but there is no significant wet or wintry weather for tomorrow.
The bigger change will be in how it feels tomorrow afternoon and through Friday. Temperatures will drop during the day tomorrow and the wind will start to gust in the 20 to 30 mph range Thursday afternoon. That gustier wind will continue into Friday, making wind chills feel like the teens Thursday evening and like the single digits Friday morning. Bundle up!
WEEKEND WEATHER:
There is now the chance for a few passing mixed rain or snow showers on Saturday and there is reason to pay attention to Sunday and Monday's weather. There is a slight chance as of now that a coastal storm could be close enough to Long Island to give us snow in this timeframe. The storm can still go out to sea and miss Long island. The News 12 Storm Watch Team will have updated information on that for you throughout the rest of the week.
The rest of next week is still looking colder than average with another chance for wet or wintry weather depending on storm tracks for the end of next week.
Have a great night!
