Here’s what you need to know:
  • A wind advisory is in effect from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday. Westerly winds between 20-25 mph with gusts up to 45-50 mph are expected. Downed tree limbs/branches, isolated power outages and scattered Christmas decorations are possible Thursday afternoon.
  • It’s another bitterly cold morning under a mostly clear sky. Temperatures are in the upper 20s to low 30s. Wind chills are in the low to mid 20s.
  • Clouds pick up throughout the day with cold temperatures in the low 40s. Wind chills will be in the 30s.
  • A clipper system will move into our area tonight into Thursday morning. Cold rain will transition to wet snow mix after 10 p.m. through 9 a.m. on Thursday. Wet/slick roads are expected for the first half of the commute. It turns gusty with plunging temperatures by the afternoon. Highs are in the low 40s early, feeling like the 20s by the evening commute with gusts up to 50 mph. Stay tuned for more updates.
  • It gets even colder on Friday through Saturday. Highs in the 30s with wind chills in the 20s. Temperatures start to recover to the mid to upper 40s Sunday through next week with a chance of rain.
Today: Becoming cloudy, very cold with a brisk breeze. Highs near 42.
Tonight: Mostly cloudy and not as cold. Rain/snow mix late. Lows near 36.
Thursday: Morning rain/snow mix, gradual clearing and gusty. Rapidly falling temps. Highs near 42. Lows near 27.
