The power is back on in Sayreville after a major outage on Saturday. Jersey Central Power & Light Co. reported an actual fish was found in a transformer, which destroyed it.
The Sayreville Police Department posted a photo on their Facebook page of the fish and a police sketch of the suspected bird. Police say they think a bird dropped the fish, Gilligan, while it was flying over.
In the Facebook post, police said the power outage was a major inconvenience for so many residents.
“Please let us not forget the victim in this senseless death. Gilligan was a hard-working family man. He was a father to thousands of children. The suspect was last seen flying South,” the post says.
