A detective with the Bergen County Sheriff's Office has been charged after prosecutors allege he sent inappropriate sexual text messages to a minor in Monmouth County.
Michael Vermeylen, 42, faces charges of endangerment and obscenity for allegedly sending naked pictures to the victim.
Vermeylen was arrested on Friday.
The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office is asking anyone with information on the case to contact them.
