A doctor from Bergen County who reportedly describes himself as "The Candy Man" and "The El Chapo of Opioids" has been charged, officials say.
Dr. Robert Delagente is accused of distributing opioids without a legitimate medical reason and faking medical records to cover it up.
Authorities say he prescribed opioids to patients he knew were addicted.
Delagente faces 40 years in prison.
