Residents of a Bellmore neighborhood say an exclusive News 12 story has made a difference in their lives.
Nassau Police have been pulling over drivers for running the stop sign at Hewlett Lane and Cottage Court. The stepped-up enforcement began after a News 12 report showed drivers running the stop sign.
According to police, eight summonses were issued on Feb. 9, two days after the story first aired.
“They have been pulling people over. They have no shortage of people that they have been pulling over,” said Tricia Knight, who lives in front of the intersection.
