The owner of a gym in Bellmawr that reopened in August against the governor's orders says the state is trying to seize his assets and force him to pay nearly $260,000 in fines.
Attilis Gym owner Ian Smith says he received a letter from the sheriff warning that all bank accounts for himself and co-owner Frank Trumbetti would be frozen.
The two broke into their own business in August and reopened despite the governor's lockdown.
Smith says the governor is abusing his power and the gym is moving forward with a lawsuit and will stay open, despite losing their mercantile license.
