A dog was rescued from Newark Bay early Wednesday morning after becoming trapped under a dock at 16th Street Park.

Firefighters responded around 1 a.m. and found the animal struggling against the current.

They pulled the dog from the water and returned it to its owners unharmed, according to officials.
