A seal pup was rescued after it was found sleeping in the middle of a busy road in Harvey Cedars.
Police spotted the animal napping on Middlesex Avenue.
Officers closed the road to keep the seal safe until the Marine Mammal Stranding Center arrived. Crews picked up the pup and took her to the hospital for an evaluation.
Officials said she is OK. She was described as a little thin but in good condition and resting well.
