A Bay Shore family has gotten back their event tickets after they say hackers stole them from their Ticketmaster account.
Sherry Campbell says her son's tickets to a football game were transferred out of his Ticketmaster account without his consent on Wednesday.
"He was sick to his stomach, he was very upset," Campbell told News 12.
Campbell says her son got an unusual email telling him his tickets had been transferred successfully. She says his son hadn't transferred the tickets to anyone and he'd been hacked - with just three days left until the game.
It was resolved after News 12 reached out.
Cyberexpert Scott Schober advises people to use multifactor authentication when buying tickets.
He stressed "long and strong" passwords are always best and says to use a good password manager.
