New Jersey residents apparently still can’t give up on The Sopranos.
An analysis of online search data based on IMDb’s most popular TV series found that The Sopranos was the most-searched television show in New Jersey, despite the series finale airing nearly 19 years ago.
Researchers at BetMGM Casino conducted the analysis, measuring search volume across all 50 states. The study found that The Sopranos outpaced more recent series, including Stranger Things, From, Off Campus and Severance, among New Jersey searchers.
The HBO crime drama currently ranks as the 54th most popular television series online among more than 2,800 shows tracked in the study. The findings were part of a broader analysis examining the television series most frequently discussed on podcasts this year.
According to the study, Game of Thrones was the most-discussed TV show on podcasts in 2026, with nearly 69,000 mentions. Researchers analyzed more than 73,000 podcast episodes published between January and July 2026.
The results suggest that while newer releases continue to attract viewers, older shows still maintain a strong presence in popular culture.
