A piano once used by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band while they were writing the album "Born to Run" is missing.
Marilyn Rocky says that she was once the owner of the home in Long Branch where Springsteen lived as he wrote the album. When he moved out, he left the piano behind.
"It was just a little unobtrusive piece of furniture at the far end of the living room," Rocky says.
In the mid-1990s, Rocky sold the home and asked the then-tenant to just put the piano out on the curb to be taken away with the rest of the trash.
Two days later, she ran into E Street Band saxophonist Clarence Clemons, who asked about the piano. When Clemons told her what was left inside the piano, Rocky says she was speechless.
"He said, 'You know after we wrote "Born to Run"...we lifted the lid [of the piano] and we all autographed it and left it there for you,'" Rocky says.
Rocky says that if anyone happens to have the piano, they can keep it. She hopes their lives become more exciting once they discover what they have, and she hopes that they donate it to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The house in Long Branch is currently up for sale once again.
