3h agoAuthorities in Morris County have released the names of a mother and son who were found dead in a pond in Boonton Township Tuesday night.
The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office says that the victims were identified as 35-year-old Warda Syed and her 11-year-old son Uzair Ahmed.
Syed and Ahmed were found dead in a pond in the Upper Pond section of Grace Lord Park. Authorities say that a passerby called police after seeing Syed’s 6-year-old son alone and calling for his mother.
Police say that officers found footprints leading toward the pond and that is when they found the bodies.
The incident remains under investigation.
