Authorities have charged a man from Union with vehicular homicide in a hit-and-run crash that left an Ohio man dead.
According to the Essex County prosecutor, 30-year-old Jarell Patterson struck 43-year-old Ray Horace, of Youngstown, Ohio, as Horace exited his parked vehicle Saturday in Newark.
Authorities say Patterson kept driving and was eventually stopped by Hillside police.
Patterson is being held at the Essex County Correctional Facility pending a court appearance.
It could not be determined if he has retained a lawyer.
