Authorities say they have arrested a bank robbery suspect in Newark seen on surveillance video as a red dye pack exploded during his escape.
According to Newark public safety officials, a police detective spotted the 27-year-old man Monday on the street.
Authorities say he faces robbery and weapons charges.
Officials allege he walked into a bank Saturday and passed a note saying he had a gun and demanded money.
Surveillance video shows him outside, and as he starts to cross a street beyond the bank property, the dye pack sends up a red cloud and he runs north out of camera view.
It's unclear whether the suspect has an attorney.
