The New Jersey State Policemen's Benevolent Association is asking for prayers after two New Jersey officers were shot within 24 hours – one in Orange and the other in Washington Township, Gloucester County.
The two separate shootings were within just hours of each other, with the most recent being in Orange. That officer is recovering after being shot in the leg.
The second consisted of a five-hour chase that ended in New Jersey but started in Pennsylvania. Officers say a suspect fired at police in Pennsylvania and stole a swat vehicle.

The chase ended in Gloucester County, with a shootout in Washington Township. The suspect was identified as Arthur Henry Disanto Jr., who was wanted by the FBI in connection to an attempted homicide. Both the suspect and a police officer were injured.
In a tweet, the New Jersey State PBA says, “In the last 24 hours, 2 New Jersey police officers have been shot in the line of duty. Keep them and their families in your prayers.”
No details about the shooting in Orange, or possible suspects, have been released, but News 12 is told the officer is expected to be OK.
