A 14-year-old girl who went missing in East Orange last month has been found safe in New York City, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.
A spokesperson for the prosecutor’s office says that Jashyah Moore is safe and “is being provided all appropriate services.”
Moore went missing on Oct. 14 after she was last seen at Poppie’s Deli on Central Avenue.
Her disappearance sparked national attention and a large effort from the community to find her.
Moore will be returning to New Jersey “shortly,” according to the prosecutor.
The county is expected to hold a news briefing Friday at 11 a.m. with more details.
