Getting into college is more expensive and overwhelming than ever, and a Florham Park business is helping families manage the process.
Jenna Shulman has run "Get Me Into College" for 10 years, working with students on applications, scholarships, and school lists based on academics, social goals, and cost.
Shulman says the application process can total nearly $10,000—before even factoring in tuition.
In New Jersey, Kean University costs about $15,300 a year, Rutgers New Brunswick around $19,000, Monmouth about $48,000, and Princeton tops $65,000.
Shulman says students are applying to more schools, often using the Common Application to reach up to 20.
She's also seeing a shift toward warmer states like Alabama, Auburn, and Texas, driven by sports, social media trends, and schools staying open during COVID.
