Police departments around New Jersey and the nation are hosting National Night Out events tonight.
National Night Out is an event meant to raise awareness about police programs in the community, such as drug prevention, neighborhood watch and other anti-crime efforts. In addition, towns typically hold large cookouts or other “carnival” types of events for children and families.
National Night Out is typically held on the first Tuesday of August.
