The auctioning off of the rights to push a button and implode the former Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City has been canceled.
According to Bodnar's Auction, the company that owns the hotel, sent a letter saying they were not on board with the plan, citing safety issues.
The event had been planned as a way to get rid of the hotel, which is a hazard to the public, and to raise money for the Boys and Girls Club of Atlantic City. The high bid was at $175,000.
