Edison police officers shot and killed a man while conducting an investigation in Edison, according to the state Office of the Attorney General.
Officials say that the incident took place around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday on Judson Street near the Margate Apartments.
Authorities say that Edison police officers were called to the residence where they encountered the man. Details about the encounter have not been released, but two officers shot and killed the man. Officials say that a sharp-edge weapon was found near the man.
First responders tried to provide first aid, but the man was pronounced dead around 4:40 p.m. He has not been identified.
The attorney general’s office is investigating.
