(04/16/08) NEW BRUNSWICK ? Firefighters spent Wednesday morning battling flames at a row of attached homes in New Brunswick.
Officials say the two-alarm blaze broke out at a home on Simplex Avenue and quickly spread to other houses. In all, 10 homes were destroyed.
It appears all of the occupants of the homes escaped injury. One factor that may have contributed to the spread of the fire is shared attic space typical of some attached homes.
The Red Cross will be assisting the displaced families. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
