AtlantiCare Health and the Casino Association of New Jersey have announced a partnership to begin planning how to reopen Atlantic City’s casinos post-pandemic.
AtlantiCare will be sharing regional COVID-19 data, forecasts and best practices with the association to plan how casinos can eventually reopen.
It was not immediately clear what the plan will entail in terms of disinfecting and social distancing practices. But the Casino Association says that it will be following guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Casinos in Atlantic City will remain closed until Gov. Phil Murphy lifts the stay-at-home order.
Murphy on Wednesday lifted a measure to close state and county parks and golf courses in New Jersey. Earlier this week the governor announced a roadmap for reopening New Jersey’s economy once it is safe to do so.
