An Egg Harbor Township woman was charged after a serious crash Saturday in Egg Harbor Township left a motorcyclist hospitalized.
The crash happened around 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of the Black Horse Pike and Silver Avenue. Police say Mona Cole was driving a Volvo when she made a left turn in front of Thomas Hasenauer, the driver of a Harley Davidson motorcycle. They say Cole pulled out directly in front of Hasenauer which caused him to slam into her car.
Police say Hasenauer, of Little Egg Harbor,  tried to break and swerve but he couldn't stop his motorcycle from hitting the car, and he was thrown from his bike. He was transported to Atlantic Care Medical Center Trauma Unit with serious injuries.
Police say Cole did not sustain injuries from the crash. She was charged with driving while intoxicated along with other charges.
The Black Horse Pike west bound was closed at the intersection with Uibel Avenue for two hours while the crash was being investigated.
