An Atlantic City man has pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter and other charges in connection with a 2024 shooting that left one man dead and another injured, authorities said.

Nakway Davis, 19, pleaded guilty Thursday to aggravated manslaughter, aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit motor vehicle theft and joyriding, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office. The plea agreement calls for an aggregate sentence of 21 years in New Jersey State Prison.

The charges stem from a Nov. 16, 2024, shooting on the 1500 block of Atlantic Avenue in Atlantic City. Police responding to reports of gunfire found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Investigators determined a group of people had been standing near a Boost Mobile store when multiple rounds were fired in their direction.

One of the victims, 19-year-old Jaiden Perez, of Atlantic City, died from his injuries on Dec. 14, 2024. An autopsy found he died from a gunshot wound to the upper torso. The second victim, a 24-year-old Ocean City man, was treated and released from the hospital shortly after the shooting.

Davis was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service and Atlantic City police on July 15, 2025. Sentencing is scheduled for July 16.
