Egg Harbor Township man indicted in fatal 2025 head-on crash

An Egg Harbor Township man has been indicted on a reckless vehicular homicide charge in connection with a 2025 crash that killed an 87-year-old woman, authorities said.
An Atlantic County grand jury on June 10 indicted Jahin Alam, 28, on a charge of reckless vehicular homicide, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
Prosecutors said the charge stems from a July 26, 2025 crash on Ocean Heights Avenue in Mays Landing. Investigators determined Alam entered the opposite direction of traffic and struck another vehicle head-on.
The other driver, Eileen Kusnirik, 87, of Egg Harbor Township, was taken to a hospital after the crash and died July 31, 2025, from her injuries, authorities said.
