A company in Atlanta makes a bulletproof bookcase designed to protect
students during a school shooting.
It comes as
protective equipment is in demand, while gun control advocates wait for
stricter legislation.
The bookshelves
are real shelves, but are lined with Kevlar along the back and sides -- and can
act as barricades for the classroom door.
The CEO of ProtectED Solutions LLC says once
there's a lockdown, the bookshelves just need to be pulled from the wall, lined
up and locked into place.
They are already
in some schools around New Jersey, and may find their way into churches.
