Wildlife experts have removed part of an arrow from the face of a deer in Marlboro.
The arrow was protruding from the muzzle of the doe, which was seen frequently since last winter.
Officials attracted the deer using corn placed at a private property off Suffolk Way and tranquilized her with a dart gun. They were then able to snip off part of the arrow shaft.
A veterinarian at the scene recommended that they not take out the whole arrowhead because it posed a greater risk to the deer.
The deer was then released back into the wild with her fawn.
A similar situation happened to a deer in Morris County in 2013.
