The nation's top infectious disease expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci, is among the health experts now recommending people wear two masks, saying two is better than one when it comes to protecting against COVID-19.
The news comes as the highly contagious U.K. variant continues to spread in the United States.
Dr. Fauci calls it common sense, but the CDC has not revised its guidance.
The agency still calls for Americans to wear one mask with two or more layers.
