Police are trying to determine who spray-painted graffiti on buildings at the Morris County School of Technology in Denville.
Authorities say someone spray-painted "seniors rule" and messages saying seniors are cool on every exterior wall of five buildings on the campus Sunday night. The suspect or suspects could face criminal mischief and trespassing charges, and possibly jail time.
"I find this to be mindless, malicious vandalism without any sense of purpose," says Superintendent Jim Rodgers. "We know [the cleanup] will be in the area of several thousand dollars, and indeed, the board of ed will seek to prosecute the individual, if captured."
Students agree that the graffiti sends a bad message. "It doesn't make use feel good about our school," says junior Anastasia Noce.
Police ask anyone with information about the Main Street vandalism to call Crime Stoppers at 973-COP-CALL.
