Thursday’s storm brought the month of July to a close.
Cars were left stranded in South Amboy as floodwaters overran Main and Oak streets during Thursday evening’s storms.
Vehicles were captured on video not heeding the advice to “turn around, don’t drown.”

In nearby Sayreville, Emergency Management said it rescued people from seven vehicles.
Besides the sweltering heat, the month featured at least three significant storms that left communities cleaning up.
