An amusement park in Ocean City was destroyed during a fire Saturday, officials say, but it's vowing to rebuild.
Ocean City officials say the fire started at Playland’s Castaway Cove at around 8 a.m. in the building that houses an arcade, offices and two restaurants.
The area was empty during the fire and no one was hurt.
There is no apparent damage to the boardwalk. “A lot of that fell down inside the building itself so there’s significant damage,” says Ocean City Council member Jody Levchuk. “I mean, it’s a complete redo.”
The area around the amusement park will be closed off while an investigation continues.
