Friday was another long day for passengers using American Airlines.The airline said 595 of its flights are canceled so it can inspect the wiring on its MD-80 aircraft. More than 900 flights were canceled on Thursday and there have been nearly 3,100 cancellations for the week.Six of the affected flights Friday were from Newark Liberty International Airport. There were also 26 flights canceled at LaGuardia Airport and two flights from Kennedy Airport. The carrier said at least 250,000 passengers have been affected by the cancellations and that the disruptions will cost millions of dollars. A spokeswoman for the airline said things are expected to be back to normal by Saturday night.American Airlines has said it is trying to accommodate those that are affected by the cancellations.
