The American Medical Association says it is time to end religious and personal exemptions for vaccinations for children.
Many states currently allow parents to opt their children out of the vaccines if they are morally opposed.
New Jersey lawmakers are discussing a plan that would narrow religious exemptions to make sure parents aren't using that as an excuse because they simply do not like vaccines.
If the bill becomes law, anyone seeking a religious exemption would have to explain in writing how the shot conflicts with their religious beliefs.
The bill would still allow for medical exemptions.
