Big changes could be on the way for Teterboro Airport as major aircraft operators have agreed to a nighttime curfew for the purpose of noise reduction. Congressman Steve Rothman (D-Fair Lawn) calls the agreement historic and says it will benefit the people who live and work near the airport. The voluntary pledge would eliminate the loudest jets at the airport and create a curfew on flights between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. A public meeting will be held at the airport November 9 to discuss the new rules. Aviation officials say they expect 50 percent compliance by the end of the year.
