New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal will be quarantining after he had contact on Monday with a staff member who tested positive for COVID-19.
A spokesperson for Grewal says that the attorney general took a rapid COVID-19 test which came back positive, but that a follow-up PCR test came back with a negative result.
The spokesperson says that Grewal is asymptomatic and is following state and federal health guidelines to self-isolate at home.
Contract tracing is underway to notify anyone who may have encountered Grewal during the potential infection window. Grewal will continue his duties while at home, according to the spokesperson.
