Acting mayor appointed as Stamford Mayor Simmons gives birth to 3rd child

Stamford officials appointed an acting mayor hours before Mayor Caroline Simmons gave birth to her third child.
Stamford Mayor Caroline Simmons and her husband have welcomed a baby boy - William Charles Linares.
William was born just after 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Acting Mayor Jeff Curtis, who is the president of the Board of Representatives, will resume duties while Simmons is absent.
Officials say Curtis will serve until Simmons informs him that she's able to resume her responsibilities.
