Academy of the Holy Angels student recognized for volunteer work

A junior at the Academy of the Holy Angels in Demarest is being recognized for her efforts to help others through an award that goes to New Jersey's top high school volunteer.
Czarina Alfonso created a pneumonia vaccination program and then went to the Philippines to make sure kids there are vaccinated.
Alfonso's efforts won her top honors from the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards.
She's now one of 10 national finalists in the running for $5,000 and the president's Volunteer Service Award.
