70 employees laid off from East Orange School District

Seventy employees were apparently let go on Friday from the East Orange School District.
School Superintendent Dr. Christopher Irving has agreed to speak to News 12 New Jersey later today about the controversial and difficult situation.
The superintendent, who just accepted the position this past summer, says the district is facing an $8 million gap in the budget, which led to the layoffs.
But parents are concerned this decision will directly and negatively impact their children's education.
