A 7 Brew Coffee drive-thru could be coming to Wayne, with plans for a new location at the Packanack Wayne Shopping Center along Route 23.
The proposal calls for a 510-square-foot coffee stand and a 260-square-foot refrigerated storage structure at 1474 Route 23, according to documents submitted to the township Planning Board.
The business would operate exclusively as a drive-thru, with two ordering lanes and employees taking orders from customers in their vehicles. No indoor seating or on-site food preparation is planned.
Proposed hours are 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The applicant estimates the business would employ 40 to 50 part-time workers.
In an Oct. 19 review, the township's consulting engineer raised concerns about traffic circulation near the proposed coffee stand. The engineer recommended eliminating a driveway along Cedar Place closest to Route 23, citing the potential for conflicting vehicle movements.
The engineer did not object to the applicant's conclusion that the project would not significantly affect traffic on surrounding roads.
The proposal is the only development application scheduled for the Wayne Planning Board's meeting Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the municipal building.
