More than 600 motorcyclists rode from Rahway to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick as part of the 10th annual Toy Run Sunday.
The riders brought a truckload of toys to children in the hospital as part of an effort to put a smile on the faces of kids with illnesses.
?We?re doing it for the kids, to see the smiles on their faces and bring a little joy and happiness to their families,? Officer Jeffrey Searles, one of the bikers, says. ?Especially coming close to the holidays, it's enough to break your heart."
According to organizer Jerry Madonia and some of the riders, the children excitedly come to the windows of the hospital upon hearing the growl of the motorcycles.
To donate toys to the motorcycle toy ride, please contact Searles at 732-859-8629.
