Police say they have arrested four men for raping an 18-year-old girl at Hofstra University and are still searching for a fifth suspect.
Authorities say the rape occurred at around 3 a.m. Sunday on the university's campus.
Rondell Bedward and Jesus Ortiz, both from the Bronx, were arraigned Monday on five counts of first-degree rape. Stalin Felip, also from the Bronx, and Kevin Taveras, of Brentwood, are scheduled to be arraigned later Tuesday.
Hofstra officials say only Bedward attended the university, while the other three men were registered guests of a Hofstra student.
Friends describe Bedward as a hard-working student who used to have good relationships with his high school girlfriends.
