Thirty-nine people have been displaced from their homes in Hudson County due to a fire and a water line that broke.
A major fire that started around 6 p.m. on Wednesday destroyed two buildings. At the same time, several families’ homes apparently lead to a water main break just a half a block away.
After the break on the water, repairs were underway. Suez Water officials say after working all night, repairs were completed around 10:30 this morning.
Those who lost water should have full service by now if not, then later this afternoon.
Although the fire emerged from a trash can between two houses, there is still no word on what caused it originally.
Red Cross is helping all of the victims involved in both incidents by providing food, clothing and temporary housing.
Broadway between 17th & 15th will remain closed as roadwork continues.
